The Vineyard

Location: The Boschetti hill, overlooking the town of Barolo (CN).
Position: 340-400 m above sea level, enjoying westerly exposure.
Soil: Calcareous-Sandy.

The Vine

Grape variety: Barbera, vines over 10 years old; manual harvest.
Pruning: Guyot.
Density: 4,400 vines per hectare.

The Wine

Vinification: stemming and soft crushing; maceration on skins for 8 – 9 days; temperature controlled fermentation; ageing in fine-grain French oak casks for 12 months.
Colour: deep ruby red with garnet hues.
Bouquet: intense, vinous bouquet; floral and fruity scents with a leading note of ripe cherries.
Flavour: dry, full, lively and structured.
Serving: serve at 18°C in large goblets.
Accompaniments: roast and boiled meats.
